Geonosis
Those who know me and my work know how much I love working with intimate landscape. Here is a recent portfolio work that I am quite excited about. It was initially just a whirlwind trip to make some new sketches from my Tolkien-inspired series but one thing turns into another and here I am with this image. The fluted folds you see here are results of years of wind and rain erosion that takes away softer materials that encapsulate harder rocks inside. From my time in the Southwest, I know that the bounced light from the folds will create a very beautiful image. My good friend Henry Ko reminded me of the harsh rocky world near Tatooine in the Star Wars universe that supposedly has similar landscape called Geonosis. If you have seen "Attack of the Clones," you will know that it is such an appropriate title!
